Radweb allows integration with Hospital Management Information Systems (HIS) via HL7 standard.

HL7 allows exchange of information including patient/study details and reports. This enhances information consistency and efficiency.

Our default integration mechanism (can be customized as per intitution needs):

1. HIS application, being the custodian of patient information, generates a HL7 message that contains study/patient details. HIS then sends this message to Radweb Modality Worklist component. Included in this message is a unique identifier for the particular study.

2. Radweb Modality Worklist server transforms the HL7 message into an entry on Modality Worklist

3. Modality equipment query Radweb Worklist and are presented with the list of scheduled examinations. This list is usually filtered by modality type.

4. Operator selects the appropriate entry on the Worklist and proceeds to perform the exam. Patient and study details are automatically picked from the Worklist and therefore, operator does not enter details manually on modality console.

5. Once the study is complete, images are sent to Radweb PACS. Radweb PACS notifies Radweb Modality Worklist that images have been received and the study is marked on Worklist as complete.

6. The report is created on Radweb and sent back to HIS via a HL7 message. Alternatively, if the report is created in HIS, such a report may also be sent to PACS and it will be integrated into Radweb PACS.
